Seafood Night went great (& didn't rain)

Homesteaders' traditional annual Seafood Event at Chestnut Springs on Saturday, June 23 again went great.

Some 36 attending ordered the lobster and 26 asked for jumbo shrimp. Homesteaders Vice President Bev Holloway very generously made key lime pies for dessert, reports Social Chair Hilary Partridge, who managed the entire event. "Our thanks also to Mary and Neil Carlson, Sue Solomon, Chris and Dennis Casey, and Janie and Karl Kirkeby for assistance with set up and clean up, not forgetting Steve Partridge for the cocktails and those delicious biscuits," adds Hilary.

Sue Solomon had exciting news to share: "One of our members has generously offered to match any donations, up to $1,000, for our Tye River Elementary project," she announced. "This includes any money collected at our events or online donations. On behalf of the Mountain Homesteaders Board, thank you to our anonymous donor for this match and thanks to all of our contributors." Go here for details on the Tye River Project and how to donate.
