"Italian Night was a lot of fun," said Hilary Partridge. If the chair of an event feeding almost 60 people had a good time, then you know it was a success.
The Wintergreen Mountain Homesteaders' Saturday night event at the Nature Foundation's Trillium House started with prosecco, and was followed by antipasto, focaccia, lasagna, salad, and canolis. Italian red and white wines flowed.
The homemade lasagnas from Homesteaders Bev Holloway, Jane Kirkeby, Michelle Clark, and Sue Solomon were the stars of the meal, but the desserts of "fabulous canolis and focaccia" from Sweet Bliss in Nellysford were a huge hit.
The Partridge's fun movie quote quiz appropriately included, of course, “Leave the gun-take the canoli,” from the Godfather.
