Tye River Elementary School outreach update

The Mountain Homesteaders Association is continuing to sponsor Tye River Elementary as our community outreach program.

Each year, for the last several years, with our members' help, we have collected donations to buy the children at Tye River Elementary school supplies when the new year starts in August and winter clothing in October before the weather gets too cold. The children of Tye River, a Nelson County Elementary school, greatly benefit from our generous efforts. This is our way of being involved with our Nelson County community.

Although the MHA board has voted to set aside money to help fund these projects, we would not be successful without our members and the community's support. There is often a basket set aside at our events for your cash donations and now you can donate to this proven, worthwhile effort online using the button on this page. We appreciate any amount and thank you in advance.

Note: Check with a tax professional regarding deducting this contribution. The Wintergreen Mountain Homesteaders is not a 501(c)3.

Goal for 2018: $2,000
