The Wintergreen Mountain Homesteaders are invited to join the Wintergreen Valley Association on a trip to Richmond's Virginia Museum of Fine Arts on March 7th.
The highly acclaimed exhibit The Terracotta Army is currently featured. The art is a legacy of the First Emperor of China. When Emperor Ying Zheng was laid to rest in B.C. 210, he was accompanied into the afterlife by an army of nearly 8,000 life-sized clay soldiers, horses, and chariots, organized in battle formation and equipped with a full arsenal of weapons.
There is always a wide variety of interesting exhibits to explore at VMFA such as the Faberge and the Russian Decorative Arts, Native American Art, Steinlen Cats and many more.
Lunch will be provided in the museum's private dining room at noon. The cost will be $65, which will include admission to the featured exhibit, lunch, and bus fare. The bus will depart for Richmond from Stoney Creek at 8 AM. Send your check, made out to Annie May Rose, by January 29 for $65 per person to:
