Note from WPOA to Members Regarding the Proposed Pipeline near Wintergreen

Dear Property Owner,

For those of you who do not live full-time at Wintergreen, or for any other reason have not heard, Dominion Transmission Inc. announced on February 23, 2015, their intention to explore several alternative routes for its proposed Atlantic Coast Pipeline.

One of those alternatives would come through several hundred feet of Wintergreen Property Owners Association Inc. property in the immediate vicinity of the entrance/Gatehouse and the Community Offices Building.

Since being informed the WPOA Board and staff have worked to become familiar with the issues relative to this proposal. To date we have had discussions and/or meetings with the Nelson County Administration, three members of the Nelson County Board of Supervisors, the Friends of Nelson, All Pain No Gain, and Dominion. At this point we are working to protect the physical and visual integrity of the Wintergreen Master Plan from this proposal.

As a large part of that effort we are providing here a list of web site addresses related to this issue. Please review them as they provide perspective from both Dominion and the various groups who are opposed to these proposals.

They are as follows: (will be active on Monday March 16, 2015)

Additionally anyone with specific questions for Dominion can call 1-877-215-1819 and they will respond within 48 hours.

We will be posting this email on our web page at and plan to use our web site for updates as they develop on this issue.

An important date to know is that the Federal Energy Regulation Commission (FERC) is conducting a scoping meeting at Nelson County Middle School, 6925 Thomas Nelson Highway, Lovingston, VA 22949 on March 18, 2015 at 7:00 PM.

We shall endeavor to post the times and places of the meetings of all the above referenced organizations as well as others as they become known to us. The Board of Directors will continue to gather information and will evaluate how they feel they should proceed. We will make every effort to keep you current through our web site and future emails.
